Blender 2.8 Octane 20.3 Blender Render Layers not working?

Hello everybody,

It seems I have problems with the render layers with the new version of octane for Blender 2.8. My problem is that only the 1st layer is rendered with a correct Alpha Channel the others simply don't render the alpha correctly. I tried going around it by trying to output CryptoMatte/MatID/ObjID passes to create a mask in after effects for those layers but it also doesn't work as those passes don't render properly. It just doesn't render those layers. I can only get it to work if I check render single layer but since what I'm trying to render is an animation and I want to set up a render que by using render layers in the compositing layout it would be counter productive to wait the 1st pass to render and then to manually start the second one. Any ideas if I'm doing something wrong or if it's broken?

I've managed to get it working by checking the *use octane render layers options in the view layer tab so it was my mistake. But now I am confused as how this works and the manual didn't help with solving my confusion. Coming from a cinema4d user of Octane, render layers in octane for cinema4d are a way to create a variation of the current View Layer so to say and not to create actual view layers. :?

To make it work there are few steps to take:
    1. Assign layer IDs to object/s you want to be on separate layers.
    2. Create View layers you want to render.
    3. Assign layer ID to each View layer.
    4. Choose layer render mode. More on render modes are here – https://docs.otoy.com/StandaloneH_STA/S ... Passes.htm
    5. Press render and after it finishes select render layer from dropdown menu located on the top left corner in render window.

Thanks much for that clear outline of steps J.C. Very useful. I haven't tried Octane Render layers in 2.8 yet so this will come in handy.
