Need Help with "light" shader/idea

I need help with creating a shader or finding a way to create a lighting kind of effect
(yes, almost like my hologram questions)

What i want to achieve is, to have the edges of my models to light up(emission i guess), and the fill is just diffuse or glossy or even invisible.

In normal Blender i think there is a toon shader, where you can render only the edges(outline) but i dont know, if you can apply emmision to it

Gmunk' s picture shows it in his Asus ad:

Thx
Lakris

Hello lakris,
maybe the wireframe modifier or fallof texture could do the job?

Yes, Thank you!

looks like a solution.

I will have to experiment with it, i only want the "outer" edges of an object, if it makes sense.(like the falloff but more edgy)
Maybe i will have to use the wireframe modifier, and then remove all i dont want inside manually...

Sure thing:) Have a look at "edge emission.blend" attached below.

Maybe try starting with something like this:
edge emission (compositor).jpg

... and then composite this with your rendered image. I'm not sure what may be the best way to do this, but there must be some;)
Check out "edge emission (compositor).blend" and see if this could be of any use for you...

thank you!
I realized my mistake and I learned something that I needed.
You're an excellent teacher of blender-octane.
