Here's beta.cc

It has several adjustments for the MAC version, but all users should upgrade as there's a minor tweak for the PC, that traps a possible 'populate' error on PC too [although it's never been reported!]...

The MAC's annoying test messages have been removed, and there are radical adjustments to the MAC 'populate' code to try and resolve the MAC dialog problems. In testing alternative coding ideas on my PC I managed to reproduce the "dialog not populating" glitch that the MAC had been having. So in finding the fix for that on my PC I hope I have also found a fix for it the MAC [in fact the PC and MAC ruby code and html code sets are now virtually identical, but I have kept them separated for future stability/testing]...

I am 'moderately' hopeful that I've now got this MAC glitch licked... but only you MAC users' feedback will confirm it

Seems it works now.
All browsers are there, export works.....
I'm not sure about the default settings radiance mentioned. But see attached

Burkhard - unfortunately it's still not working !

The MAC's dialog doesn't seem to be getting 'populated' with the correct default or previously entered values !

Can you try it on a completely new file that has never has the tool run on it ? Most options should start unchecked [except 'camera']
Does that work ?

I thought I had it resolved: I had managed to break the PC version, and in fixing it thought I had an alternative way that would work for the MAC.

It must be possible to fix this - here's an adjusted TEMPORARY MAC ONLY ruby file for you to try...

Please unzip this and replace the Octane_1022.rb file in your ../Plugins/Octane/ folder... It will do a message or two after the dialog opens... I suggest you save the earlier version and revert to it after testing.

Please let me know how this works for you...

MartyMart can you be a little more specific...

Are you on a Mac, and if so what OS etc.
Does the dialog start off in anew SKP with the default values mostly unchecked [except the camera] ?
If so check one or two - say use 'sun' and try that...
Does the SKP "remember" your recently entered values when the tool is rerun during a session and then after saving/closing/reopening ?

If it's working for you then I am puzzled about Burkhard's issues...
If it's not working fully as explained above then please can you try the temp ruby file I offered to him too...

We WILL fix you MAC users' problems [one day!]

The exporter browser is blank till I click the last OK button.
After that you'll see, all is checked.
I took a fresh, never used file.

Thanks Burkhard

I suggest you revert to the previously .rb for now...

This is most weird... I'm waiting to see what MartyMart's feedback might be.

This last file attempted to force the dialog to [re]populate itself several times - clearly unsuccessfully !

Can you change the values of the dialog's settings by hand - e.g. un-check most of the values ?
If so are they read properly when you Render - e.g. with different resolutions set does the OCS image size change?
I assume these changes aren't getting remembered between use of the tool during a session or across the SKP's close/open either ...

I am at a loss to see why the MAC isn't populating properly as the basic API code should work across platforms...

We WILL fix this

I just reviewed the files and noticed a small typo in the MAC html file that might be causing a problem - can you replace it with this version in the zip and retry the tool [using the non-dialog rb file that came in the original zipped set]

Feedback again please...

The file does not change everything.
For changing the values:
All works except resolution changes and ( if there are possibilities ) Active Camera and Light Sources
But maybe that's not actvated yet?

Everything is 'activated' and all values/check-boxes should be changeable - it works fine on the PC but the MAC STILL fails to load the 'default' oe previously entered values properly...

Incidentally, do the 'sliders' work to set values on the MAC ?

I'll do some more digging...
