C4D Pyro and Octane - mixing of colors possible?

Just wondering, as the title says, if it is possible to mix multiple Pyro emitters of different colors with each other, to create a new color, such as mixing red and blue to create purple?
This is an easy task in Redshift and Arnold as uniquely colored volume shaders can be applied to each emitter within the same Pyro scene,
but I’ve yet to find a way to do this in Octane.

Is this possible with Octane?
And if so, any suggestions on achieving it would be greatly appreciated.

I would say yes, but could you share a simple RedShift example scene to see if the result is similar?

Thanks so much for the quick reply, Beppe!

I do not have Redshift so I cannot point you to a scene file. I have based my knowledge of Redshift and it's ability to access the color from multiple Pyro Emitters on several videos that demonstrate this use.

The issue seems to be that the Redshift Volume Shader's Scatter Attribute has access to both Desity AND Color channels,
while an Octane VDB Volume's Scatter can only use the Density, and changing that setting to the Color channel in the Grid Mapping produces no result.

Please note: I have tried exporting VDBs (with both Density and Color channels) from both the Pyro Cache tool, as well as File > Export > Volume.

Hi,
you need to make sure that in the Pyro Object tag, the Color is set to ON:

Then you need to uae the Standard Volume Medium, and type "color" in the Color channel:

This absolutely works. I didn't try it earlier because I'm so used to using VDBs.

Speaking of which, is there a way to get this working with a VDB workflow? I like storing my cached volume animations outside of C4D. Makes for a much faster file as it avoids having to constantly process the Pyro over and over.
Is there a way to plug the Standard Volume with it's access to the Color channel into a VDB Volume? Is that even what would be required?

Nevermind. I figured it out!

I added the Standard Volume to the VDB Volume via the Medium Tab. Raised the Density, lowered the Step Length, dialed up Color in the Scatter, and voila!
