I put alle the files where they belong, and this is the result:

Client 1 (crashes never): http://www.3dfisch.de/forum/log_does_never_crash.zip

Client 2 (crashes): http://www.3dfisch.de/forum/log_crashed_1.zip

Client 3 (crashes): http://www.3dfisch.de/forum/log_crashed_2.zip

The master did not produce a log file!
Is it possible this is because of the UAC that requires an administrator's approval to write in the standalone's directory?

Hi zoppo,
I can't find nothing special in the logs, do you mind to share a complete scene with assets that is giving you issues via PM?
By the way, why are you still on 3.06, and not 3.06.2?

Hm, I guess I was waiting for 3.07 - updating is kind of work as my clients are not online normally.

I got a few minutes now, so I'll update to 3.06.2 and test again.

Client A and B keep crashing, but finish the job once restarted.

Still no log file on the master!

Log client A: www.3dfisch.de/forum/client_A.zip
Log client B: www.3dfisch.de/forum/client_B.zip
Log client C: www.3dfisch.de/forum/client_C.zip

Link to scenes plus "PV Render Queue 2" sent via PM.

Hi zoppo,
I was answering to another user with a similar issue, and I have figurd out to have not asked you this questions:
What about the RAM capacity of the Slaves?
Are you using the Out-of-core option?

The clients all have 16GB and I don't use the Out-of-core option. But this is the same for all three clients and only two of them keep crashing.

Also, they don't crash when rendering in the live viewer.
And when they crash in frame 1 or 2 and are restarted they perfectly render the remaining 750 frames.

The scenes I sent you have 3mio polys but no textures, only one HDRI - and scene 1 doesn't even have that.
When rendering in the LV VRAM uses 1.5GB, C4D's Ram usage is about 5GB, octane_slave.exe on the client uses 2GB

Hi zoppo,
I have tested your scenes in Render Queue with a Slave1 16GB RAM, and a Slave2 only 8GB.
No crashes in both Slaves, but while the first has started render almost at the end of the first frame, the other one has finished to receive the scene only at the end, so it has worked with two slaves only for the last frame.
I'm going to increase the number of frames to see if I have a different behavior or crash.
I'll keep you informed,

Hi all,

I’ve been having this issue as well so I’m bumping this thread. Has anyone figured out why Render Queue in C4D crashes when using Network Rendering? It’s very frustrating. I can only use my main machine for Render Queue jobs, resulting in my other computers just sitting idle.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks all.

Cheers,
Ronny

Hi Ronny,
you have reopen a very old discussion.
Please, open the scene, then go to c4doctane Settings/Others tab, and, at the bottom of the panel, enable all the Log option checkboxes:
Image
Then, load the scene in Render Queue until crash, and share the c4doctanelog.txt file that you find in c4doctane directory, or in the path specified in Settings/Others panel, thanks.

Thank you for your time and attention Beppe. Unfortunately the render never crashes, so I cannot give you logs. The render just stalls on a random frame and continues to render. I've let it go for 8 hours and it's still on frame 6. Is there a way to generate a log even if the program does not crash?

Cheers,
R
