Geometry Smoothing Problems

Just bought Octane for Cinema and using it on my first project. I've created some loft nurb objects but encountering some unsightly faceting of the geometry in Octane which doesn't happen when tested in Vray (see attached images). Have removed and reapplied the smoothing tag and made objects editible and kept as nurbs but haven't been able to smooth the geometry in octane. Does anyone have some tips on what's causing the problem and how to sort?

Thank you. No the smooth wasn't checked initially but doing this seems to have solved things.
