It doesn't show up anywhere and the console doesn't mention it.

I just downloaded the archive posted here and tried it on C4D R12.021 32-bit and it works. So that should be ok.

Did you copy it into application plugin folder or in the plugin folder of the user preferences (Edit -> Preferences... -> "Open Preferences Folder...")? IF

Maybe the download or the unzipping failed. Could please try to download and unpack it again?

Cheers,
Marcus

just like Maxwell, IvyGrower and other plugins this goes to 'c:/.../cinema4d folder'/plugins/

downloaded, unpacked, restarted windows, started Cinema - nothing showing up here.

Today must be the day of the strange problems... Anyway, could you please go to "...cinema folder\plugins\OctaneExport". Do you see a file "OctaneExport.cdl" there, that has a size of 306,688 bytes?

If yes, please go two directory levels up and run CINEMA 4D.exe directly from the Windows Explorer. If there is still nothing showing up, could you please move all other plugins temporarily out of the C4D folder and try again?

Thanks,
Marcus

something really strange: Cinema is installed on both C:/ and D:/ ... I was just putting it in the wrong plugin folder. Should get rid of one of these installations I guess. :D

Thanks for the help!

Cool, that's good news then.

Happy rendering,

I can see a glorious black from my R12 exported scene, but surely one should see at least a white sky, evene after tweaking on octane's side

Is it possible, that the camera is somewhere sitting in the dark or has incorrect coordinates? What do the camera settings (position / target / up vector) say in the node inspector?

Cheers,
Marcus

Installed the latest and greatest octane (I was using 2.45) and it now works, strange since the last worked with the demo scenes
