Face, what do you think of this...

http://www.octanepowertools.com/

Can we use that with the XSI plugin? Looks interesting.

I got the light version and working from max.
I only use max2octane to boot up the initial looks and shaders, however you dont need the exporters tecnically for it to work.
Its good and works very well, spitting out animation on a shopping center these days in a breeze.

ok pleeeeease tell me whats going on.... some guy ..... made exporting only once per animation.... which is totally cool....

but can You tell me... if octane itself will have an option with only one export per animation instead every frame or not??

because if not.... Im willing to buy this plugin even if someone here would want to ban me.....

ITS A LIFESAVER as far as I can see... please someone can tell more about it?? I mean the situation between this guy and refractive team.....

You mean only one import i think?
Export isn´t Octane specific...

we´re talking about camera/sunlight animation only, right? ....in a static scene with no moving objects.
In that case purchasing the "Octane power tools" makes sence.
But when you need object animations, this won´t make you happy - as you still need to export the obj for each frame.

I suggest waiting for the the upcoming beta 2.6
Radiance said something of drastically reduced voxelization times in the new release, so let´s wait and see how fast it will become.

alternatively, with the collaborative plugin program available by now, it´s just a matter of time until developers implement octane to the core apps.
Something I´m incredibly excited about.

Faster voxels means only one side of the issue is solved. The reexporting still needs to be executed regardless.
As for upcomming possible this and possible that, yes that is true. But no indication on when.

exactly :D and when I have moving objects... I will use old workflow with exporting every frame...

still HUGE time&money saver :)
