Octane for Softimage 1.02 RC10 [Obsolete]

Have found the time to build a new release today.
The major change is the new logging system. It is maybe not perfect but can be used as a base. So tell, when something should change.
This release needs also an updated render properties on old scenes, which you can trigger with the same-named menu entry...

Hope you like it,
face

FIXED:

  • "ApertureEdge" in the ThinLens camera shader is working.
  • "Autofocus" in the ThinLens camera shader is working.
  • A switch of an image texture will update the shader.

ADDED:

  • Vertical/Horizontal Camera FOV.
  • Remaining rendertime is shown in the render status.
  • Current/total rendertime is shown in the info when the render is done or arborted.
  • GPU memory is shown in the render status.
  • Check for outside changed image files.
  • "Distortion" parameter added in the ThinLens camera shader, which was announced in the RC9 release.

CHANGED:

  • The info system is complete rewritten. There are two infos which are shown.
General infos show you the current state the plugin has, like "Set Camera" or "Export Kinematics" of mesh X.
Changes will show you what is catched by the plugin. Also Kinematics changed, environment changed and so on. This can be en/disabled.

There are two places where the infos are shown. At first the status bar and the second place is in the script editor.
The status bar can´t be disabled and will ever show you infos. The script editor output can be en/disabled.
You can also set the time in ms, how long an info is shown in the status bar with the "Infobar Delay" parameter.

I know about existence of 1.01beta demo plug but I've noticed that for maya plugin you are always releasing demo and full versions. Do you plan of releasing demo for xsi plug in latest version too?

Thank you.

Thank you.

Have thougt of the demo. But this is only a release candidate where 2 parts are missing.
I will first implement the ability to use shader compounds and bring back the shader preview.
Then it makes sense to build a new demo version and a final 1.02.

Hi face, I have noticed that my renders are slower in rc10, I been rendering at 3.8Ms in rc9 and now in rc10 they are at 3.29Ms, do you know what it could be?, maybe the changes on the thin lens shader?

Also I´d like to ask you, what parameters should I set in the thin lens shader for the bokeh to look anamorphic, thanks.

There should be no difference, it´s the same SDK.
The new lens parameter was also present in the RC9, it was only unused and had the default value.
Have disabled the renderinfos, the Ms are the same, so this new feature hasn´t any effect.
Maye there is something running in the background?

Octane hasn´t anamorphic lenses, you can only simulate a round bokeh with the aperture edge parameter.
Like the example in the RC9 thread.

I did a clean install of softimage and seems everything is fine now, rc10 is only 0.3ms slower than rc9 for me, thank you.
