Hi,
I've set up a little camera rig which could interest some XSI users out here.
Hope you will like it.
The setup is fully interactive in both XSI viewport and is dynamically linked with Octane (through the wonderful face's plugin).
The camera has HUD settings for:
- the aperture (in f-stop) like a real camera
- the focal length (in mm)
- the focus point distance (yellow null)
- The focus point is set by the yellow null.
- The grey plane is the IN FOCUS plane and camera frustum (change with aspect ratio)
- The blue plane represents the NEAR focus limit.
- The red plane represents the FAR focus limit.
All the parameters are linked and calculated for the different variables (aperture, focus distance and focal length). The planes help you visualize the DoF effect even without having to do a test render in Octane.
All the calculations are made for a 35mm Academic film back and standard Circle of confusion.
Thus the focal length should be the same as a full Frame DSLR. (eg: 20, 35, 50, 85mm ...)
The camera controls are found under the "Camera_Root" Null, under the "cam_CONTROLS" Parameters.
To see the HUD settings in your viewport you have to activate the "view Custom Display Info Parameters" and "Use Proxy Parameters Names" (see image below).
**The custom settings found under the Camera object are for internal calculations and shouldn't be modified, moved or deleted**
If you need to relink the camera to the octane exporter for some reason , just link the "O_Apt." and "Focus Distance" to the two parameters of Octane exporter (A-A, B-B) (see image below).
