Mac Export Script Failing

Hi Guys

Just bought an Octane license to use with my macbook pro i7. I'm having the same issue as stated by p3taoctane and initially also by cgbeige on another topic.

Snow Leopard (10.6.3)
Maya 2011
OctaneRender 1.022 beta2.2


After loading the script I've tried all the possible variations when filling out the fields (".../octane.app/..." or ".../OctaneRender 1.022 beta2.2/...") and I've also tried to use different versions of the script (maya2011octane_beta2d and maya2011octane_beta2e) and still a no go (the only thing that happened is that when I use the beta2e script I get an extra error saying "-la/labelAllign is obsolet.. bla bla bla")

The script writes the obj file properly but doesn't write the .oct file, also doesn't open octane.

I know both users found workarounds, so could someone please explained me the right solution? maybe we could create a mac specific thread to address these issues?


I'm so eager about start lighting my scenes! ;)

I've managed to talk to the user cgbeige and he suggested to rename the octane application to just "octane" (instead of the original "OctaneRender 1.022 beta2.2")

Ok, that doens't resolved the problem but helped. Now ehwn I try to export from maya Octane tries to launch but crashes instead. Btw, if I open Octane application normally (double-clicking on it's icon) It runs smoothly.


Any thoughs?

if u have only 1 gpu dont turn on the use gpu 0

try and let me know ;)

Thanks for the fast response.... but it's still a no go :(

I've tried checking and unchecking the use gpu... also tried typing something 1 instead of the default 0 but no success.

Btw I'm using gfxCardStatus 1.75 to always force my geforce 330m.

well if u could u should talk to cgbeige about osx coz i dont have it, so i feel so stupid :D, i think he can help u everything about osx

also i think that the probl is in maya and osx, script so far should work ;)
