All these issues are already fixed... I'm just adding the Octane help invocate from Maya interface, and will release the fixed version...

I was wondering if there are plans to incorporate the material library in the plugin?

Thanks, that would be great!
So far testing has been pretty fun.

I haven't had much luck with the 'octane light' so far though.

Also for some reason when I changed the opacity on a sphere with a diffuse and a blackbody emmission, all the materials in the scene had their opacity affected at the same time. (except for the environment texture). Then i noticed that this happens on any material in the scene.

Ok, I found that if I re-press the IPR button to refresh the render then it fixes that problem completely.

To All:
If in the new version you encounter some bugs that you already reported in previous version thread - just repeat it please in the new versions threads. Such way I will know if some bugs still exist for some of you. Other than I will think that they no more occur, and you will think that I just "on the way of fixing it".;)

Joss
Please check if something changed with your problem that you described HERE (sluggish vewport when image textures are present).

Please, all other conversations - already in new version thread, HERE.

I´m joining this thread too.

i have noticed that octane render is still very very slow to ram up the whole scene. if i have a heavy 10 million polygon scene, it takes forever to get a render going, the rendering process is still pretty fast but when it starts to prepare the render, it just stands there and think.

it just feels like it´s still exporting like the old plugin exporter. is this a bug ? or is it just something that will be fixed in the next version ?

also i have never experienced a more unstable renderer plugin before now, i have tried octane render three or four times this day and i managed to crash maya every time. that should not be possible :o

and last.
i haven´t been able to render a full animation yet, because the renderer get´s stuck. it simply just stop at some point and i have to restart it, very annoying really. and something strange happens to my render, an example here is i have some clear water shading going on, and then suddenly in one of the frames changes the water to something that looks like dark deep ocean water. another example is that i get a completely overexposed image.

i´m a little disappointed about this plugin, but i will try and get along with it and hope for quick bug fixes and updates. :)
