The scene is just a few primitives. Everything is fine until I assign a octane material. Then after saving, and reopening the file it crashes maya. Here is the scene

Thanks for your help.

Is this scene that already has material assigned and crases? I need the scene that already crashes when opening.

Yes that is the scene. I am guessing that it opens for you. I will try turning off some other plugins and possibly doing a re-install of Maya.

There will be new version with these fixes available soon (I think a few hours), it will be fixed in that version.
As I already wrote - do not worry about these little things, they will be fixed very quickly (if you will post such a detail bugreports).
And do not think that it was not tested before release - it was tested a couple of months with 7 alpha testers from licensed Octane users (from this forum). They reported that it is stable enough. So, if you will find some bugs that they have not noticed - it is normal for the first release of such a complex software, people are not robots, they can't notice everything...;)

So, please to All:
If you encouter some bugs, post it in the current plugin version thread with detailed description of "what you do, press, etc, and what you get", and screenshot of Maya console (or just copy/paste its content) with enabled "Verbose mode" of Octane plugin. This plugin will be improved very fast, it's just my style of work.
Thanks to all, who already posted the reports here.Image

In simple scene with few textured polyplanes and diffuse octane materials with jpeg textures(6 mats in total), if you turning on hardware texturing in viewport, Maya starting to lag enormously, viewport fps dropping down to like 0.5fps or such, but still therte's no textures on those polyplanes. If you switch off hardware textures, everything is fine back again.

Also there's even more problems with IPR: i'm not sure why, but when i'm changing materials in hypershade, or even just clicking "toggle the create bar on/off" in hypershade, _whole_ scene changing materials, almost on each click, although in normal render everything is still fine.

I've noticed that every time in any scene in maya 2013 64 bit, that the sun/sky environment node quickly disappears when created from the hypershade, leaving only the transform behind.
There seems to be no problem creating it from the shelf though.

Hi,
I bumped into the same issue than Realspace & Slayerma .
I saved my scene and then i try to open it ( i try both load & import) and maya crash badly ....
i notice that the problem occur only when an OctaneDiffuse material is save into the scene .
all the other elements of the OctaneRender shelf seems to not crash maya when you load or import the scene again .
