os Win7 pro
cpu: bi xeon with 48Go certified ram
gpu: 3 EVGA gtx 1080 8GB
nvidia drivers: 388.13
3dsmax 2018
octane 3.08.3 - 5.15
Working shaders in octane is a nightmare.
It happens on simple or complex scenes.
Opening material edit crash 3dsmax about 25% of the time.
With material editor already open, trying to create an new shader by just choosing glossy, diffuse ect crash 3dsmax about 25% of the time.
When alreday working on a shader trying to get a texture 3dsmax crash about 25% of the time.
When it doesn't crash and just make error i can't save my file "error writing to file" (i'm not working on a network).
It happens even with all cards deactivated in the device choose (no card allowed for rendering).
it happens with render viewport open and with render viewport close.
i work with 3dsmax viewport perfomance shading.
i deactivate my antivirus to avoid any conflict.
i try reinstall ocatne.
I loose about 25% of my day to reopen max after error and redo my shading work.
i always optimize my material editor to have the less possible thing to update/view
I have to save my scene everytime i want to work on a shader to avoid redo all the work.
It has always been hard to work with material editor and octane (like 10s to open material editor) but recently it's a real nightmare.
I have professional deadline to respect and this problem is like a bullet in the foot for me.
Am i the only one who has so much problem with material editor ?
Does anyone has meeting the same problem and got a solution ?
