AO light problem and better cozier look

Hi I have two problems

1. When using AO mesh light does not contribute light to the table like Diffuse does. I thought AO should still shine direct light. Seems like you have to increase brightness a lot to get light to shine.

2. Anyway to get similar look like Secret life of pets or octane is not for that kind of cozy look. Kitchen looks lifeless and flat and with diffuse too dark as always . thank you

Hi coilbook,
DL-AO works very well, it's almost comparable to PT, but anyway we can consider it "fake", otherwise it would be a PT!
about the lighless and cozy look, esos does not depend on Octane Render, it depends on photography and lighting techniques.
we talked this topic several times. It's not the render engine that makes a nice render.

Thank you. I just wish octane had a separate control of gi brightness without affecting direct light brightness otherwise when exposure is dialed up to make interior bright direct sun light looks way too bright
