Hi darkline,
what about movable proxy, did you forget it?

Hi Paride,

Yes moveable proxy was also checked, just looks like that MB data is only being sent to octane for the single frame and does not update. However on a final render motion blur does appear on all frames.

Also please look at the attached render. Motion blur looks good on most of the liquid, but it's causing strange artifacts on the edges of the container. All liquid is within the container, but there are motion blur streaks outside the boundary.

That looks great but can you please take us through a step by step as I'm not getting the same results as you. I have enabled motion blur in render settings, object and vertex motion blur on the Phoenix Liquid, and Velocity is ticked in the output of the liquid. What else do I need to do?

EDIT :

Ok so it seems you have to close the octane window and re-open it for motion blur to take effect. I think there is a bug in that if you frame advance on the max timeline motion blur disappears again. Motion blur only shows on the initial frame when you close/open the octane window, after that no motion blur is visible as you scrub animation (Max 2014)

it is a bug. octane 2 updated motion blur without closing but since 2.2 version you have to close the window for mb to update

Hi Darkline,
I think it's pretty regular OctaneRender viewport does not automatically update the MB.
You have not to re-open OctaneRender viewport but just make refresh and no waiting time as for the evaluation time.
Everything works well in render mode making animation.
About your MB issue in screenshot shared, I'm not sure it depends on Octane Render; did you test it with Phoenix and another render engine?

Hi Paride

The refresh button on the viewport does NOT update the motion blur on pheonix object. I have to close the viewport and load everything again to see it. I am only using the pheonix demo but this is my experience so far.

Also I do not understand your point about refreshing the MB for every frame. I can see MB in octane viewport simply by scrubbing the timeline - I do not have to refresh. I just tested this with a simple sphere (unless you're talking about vertex blur?).

Hi darkline,
I'm using phoenix demo version and dragging on sliders, I have to refresh, but not re-open, for MB in OctaneRender Viewport.
Making a test with an object like a sphere is not indicative, there is not a real topological geometry changing but only a modification.
Anyway, I'm making tests to give developers details on any issues.

Hi darkline,
No I don't, I'm sorry, 2015, 2016, 2017 version, but not 2014.

Hi Paride,

Can you please find a way to have a look at this in max 2014? Now I'm getting no motion blur at all. It seems very eratic. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it does not. As I'm using the demo I can't even send you a scene as it resets all the phoenix FD data.
