Perspective Match doesn't match

Whats up with the perspective match? Sometimes it works very well, then sometimes not.
Really annoying. Is there something I have to think about? is it a bug?

max pers. match. some times scales the "virtual camera" (perspective view is can be distorted to match the pers.)
When you match the pers. create a camera from that current viewport.

Select the camera and check it's size (by right clicking the scale button)
if the camera is scaled . Than octane can do nothing to render exact camera.

What I generally do is create the cam from matched perspective viewport.
Than press P where converts the view from cam to a sole perspective view.
Than create camera again from that view.

the camera created may not be identical to the matched view. But at least it renders same in octane..
than you can change the camera to best angle. but do not scale the camera..
use octane perspective correction much as you can.

hope it helps

Thanks! I will try. Strange because it works often. Maybe I scaled it by accident. I transformed the "dismatched" render in photoshop sometimes but I prefer a clean render. :)

Unfortunately perspective match with Octane is extremely painful, and I have noticed that, even if different users have pointed out this issue, no solution (seems like no interest) by Otoy's team were found
I always work with aerial large scale views as I have to match commercial buildings into GoogleEeart or drone photos , and this camera misalignment most of time drives me crazy :(

Hi mbetke,
Il issue è già detto da jimstar in precedente post:
https://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=59207&p=303502&hilit=+perspective#p303357
Hai tu provato il workaround suggerito da oguzbir?:

I see. But with developers changed and 3dsmax getting new versions I thought a simple bugfix could be possible. ;)
