I’m wondering if it would be feasible to request an adaptive vertex subdivision displacement where you could suggest the level of subdivision with a planar falloff similar to DOF?

3 or so subdivision vertex displacement on one area with everything outside of that area set ti 1 or 0 or whatever you set it. That would be excellent for close up macro work, but also for large scenes where you have a forest with a few trees with high displacement and then the falloff to the background with no displacement.

Does that make sense and could that exist?
