what is the difference between a curvature node and the usual dirt node?

Very exciting roadmap. The things that highlight for me are.
1. RTX motion blur.
2. Native instancing.
3. Curvature node
4. Gradient improvements. (like an actual gradient node?)

Hi,
As a Cinema4D user should I install only standalone installer? Should I update cinema 4D octane plugin too for this release?
