The world's fastest and most feature-rich unbiased render engine that integrates complete SketchUp and the native features.
For example, Shadows, Layers, Native material picker, Automatic material converter, Data sync etc..

This release will work with SketchUp® Versions 2020 & 2021, 64-bit on macOS BigSur.

NEW FEATURES OF THE REFACTORED VERSION
=============================================
1. New Asset Center Window
- Basically, the Asset Center includes all the resources that you can use in Sketchup Octane.
- Materials, Cameras, Kernels, Environments, and all other Render Settings...
2. Complete multiple views system
- Each view has its own camera instance. All camera instances are listed in the Asset Center.
- Other render settings nodes are shared among views. So only one instance is listed in the Asset Center.
3. New Material Graph System
- Now the Asset Center will show node graph editor as well.
- Some preset [Sketchup] material/texture nodes will be auto-created in the node graph
- Color/Image/Opacity data will be auto-synced between Sketchup and Octane
- The 100% flexibility to edit the node topology as you wish.
- The preset material is Universal Material as default. It can be changed to any other material type.
- The only limitation is the name of the preset nodes(the ones with "[Sketchup]" prefix) should be unchanged.
4. Support the Sketchup Colorize Feature
- The Sketchup Colorize Algorithm is implemented as an OSL node("[Skechup]ColorizeCorrection") now
5. Double side material supports
- The Sketchup Double Side Material is supported and implemented as a Preset Octane Node Graph Now
- Two independent UV sets are supported for the double-side mesh
6. New Mesh/Group/Component System with Layer supports
- Fix lots of issues in the previous mesh system
- Support Object ID
- Support Render Layer ID
7. New Preference Window
- Implement a new web-style Preference Window
8. Support Displacement
- SketchUp Material has a "Displacement out" node now
- Create a displacement node and connect it to this output node will enable the displacement feature
- As we are using "Mix Material" to support double-side material, we have to use an independent displacement output here
9. Support Orbx Proxy
- Just like the old plugin, now we support using Octane Proxy from the same place.
10. Support Shadow Info
- Now we can convert parameters in this panel to the Octane's daylight environment(when the "Use sun for shading" is enabled)
11. Support AOV Group
- An AOV output group is added in the Asset Center
13. UI Improvement
- The "Asset Center Window" will always show on the top
- Support to use material picker/material panel to select the material in the "Asset Center Window"
14. Viewport Render Experiment(coming Soon!!!)
- This is an experiment only
- In Sketchup 2020, there is an API that can draw a texture on the screen. We did an experiment using this API to implement a viewport render. But it's very SLOW due to the Sketchup API - it is not designed for this usage!
[ Known issue ]
- Performance/crash issue when rendering high-resolution 4k or larger scene.
Please shrink the SketchUp viewport dialog as a workaround!
Installation note:
- Activate SketchUp before installing OctaneX for SketchUp
- Use "Allow anyways" from Security and Privacy>General tab to install
- Make sure to Right-Click>Quit the SketchUp app from the Dock for Octane license to release properly.
