Importing Alembic Mesh Sequences Through Octane

From what I understand, OctaneRender itself can import Alembic files... But LightWave's Alembic Loader is unable to import mesh sequences.

So I'm wondering if it's possible to have the Octane plugin use a similar setup as it does with OpenVDB to import Alembic sequences. Such as those from RealFlow and Houdini. This would allow LightWave Octane users the ablity to more properly and easily import meshed fluid simulations from external software.... Assuming the attributes from those files could be accessible for motion blur and surfacing.

Hi,

Yes, I suppose that it could be possible. The main problem is how to get and link materials from LightWave to the alembic object. I'll think about it.

Thanks,

Thank you for looking into it.

Personally, even if it were at least possible to just import materials made externally in standalone through the plugin... that would still be an improvement over the current situation.
