Chaos node - odd Normal behavior

Hello,
Chaos node seems to change the way Normal maps affect material. Notice that this material has no specular, just diffuse.
Without Chaos, changing texture's power inside Image node will change the intensity of the effect in a linear, understandable way.

With Chaos, changing power totally changes shading and brightness of the material:

Juan said that this node is broken - how did you manage to make it work at all? When I connect this node to my materials, I get just a black surface no matter what.

This comes from a custom plugin that I'm testing with some users before releasing a new public build.

At the moment the node doesn't play very well with normals, we are looking to fix this in a future version. For now when used for normals you should always set the Gamma on the input texture node to 1.0 and avoid changing Power.
