Any updates as to when this will be fixed for C4D? Bought the Octane X subscription as soon as it was available only to find out it doesn't work.

If you look at the FAQ thread. they require a vega or newer card and that there might be some issues with S22/R22 and that they were using R21 in testing.. if you have the subscription you should have access to R21 as well.

First: Congrats on great work! Best thing to happen to the Mac in a decade! Finally there is a chance to stay on mac for 3d!
Now, I have a question:
I have two eGPUS with vega64s connected to a MBP. Works great if I use the laptop screen and the eGPUS for accelleration only. BUT, if I use an external monitor, IPR performance stutters horrible (unusable). Final renders are still about the same perf. So best for me right now is to use one eGPU for Octane X (the one egpu with no monitor) and the other eGPU for driving monitor. I would have hoped that I could get ok performance using just one eGPU with an external monitor and getting even better perf when both are attached. Is this a know issue? Expected behaviour?

Great work guys, very happy Octane X is finally here. Regarding the net rendering. Before the beta I had the information that cross rendering between mac and pc would be possible. I have a MacPro as master and two pc slaves which does not work right now. Is this still going to happen or is this off the table now? Thanks again guys and keep up the great work.

I'm using 2 RX 5700 XT's, but only have C4D R20. So that's what I need it to work with. Hopefully they get it fixed soon.

I find it really weird that they would release it with it only working on one version of C4D, and not even the newest version.

Hi! How is it going in your system with those two 5700Xt? Is it stable?
I am reading reports of instability https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/amd-radeon-pro-w5700-natively-supported-and-used-in-mac-pro-discussion.298598/post-2153523
I am stuck on high Sierra and gtx 1080, suffering from some nvVidia related KPs and hard reboots as well as octane related c4D crashes.
So I am really desiring to move on to Catalina and Octane X but I am not sure about doing the investment in a 5700X or Radeon VII (if I find one) given the state of things right now. Plus knowing AMD will be “soon” releasing new navi cards sometime in the near future.

I can't really say since my 5700's are eGPU's and aren't really used that much. Was going to use them for Octane. I have noticed some weird startup issues however. On occasion I've had to unplug them to get the computer (mac mini) to start and then plug them back in. I've had a couple hard crashes while playing around with Blender but can't say definitively if it was due to the cards.

If they get Octane fixed I'll have more to report on.

I mean it IS early days. and some of this will fix itself eventually. - I have s22 and I think its working.. I will check later today. Fresh system install and up to date 10.15.6. YMMV It was happily using my internal wimpy GPU since I don't have a Vega/navi card yet. (waiting on Big Navi) but it was working as can be expected for the 5300m.

So just as a question - could the folks running Big Sur already get maybe a beta to try out of Octane X, or maybe an eta on when a beta would be available? It sounds like there is already an internal beta for Big Sur...
