"Smarter" node handling

When you drag a node in between two other nodes, it seems as if the input is always connected to the first socket. Sometimes this might works, sometimes it doesn't. For example, the texture input in the Gradient map node it connected to the Interpolation socket, which is invalid. Another one is the Baking texture node. The input gets connected to a group socket, which doesn't work either.

Another thing that would be nice is to keep the connection "alive" when you delete a node between two nodes. In Cycles that works very well. On Octane I have to reconnect the nodes after that. A little thing but it happens a lot.
