Hi,

thanks for the update.

Starting with Version 4, I encounter more and more crashes.
This one happened while detaching a bump texture from a material with displacement while rendering.

I had another crash while changing displacement settings on a heavier scene . No out of vram or cpu ram issue.
Even display driver crashed.

Overall Version 4 is quite heavily blocking the UI of Blender compared to Version 3.07 when rendering.
In Version 16.2.6 Blender randomly flashes a white screen (mostly when starting render, sometimes while rendering).

Reported a while back: 'AI light strength' in kernel settings doesn't exist anymore in Standalone

Hi aufwind,

Thanks for your report. It seems to be a cuda failure in engine.
On one hand, I will try to reproduce it and check with engine team. On the other hand, I am merging the fixes in 16.x and going to build a new 15.x release with 3.08.5.
About the 'AI light strength', it seems still there in v4 rc6? Just wondering if I miss something. Thanks.

Cheers,

Hi DrawFun,

thanks for looking into it.

In Standalone there isn't a "AI light strength" option anymore , unless I'm overlooking something.

Regarding Cuda Failures, I turned off TDR Warnings, which increased stability quite a bit.
Especially on computational heavy Scenes some of the limits seem to be exceeded.
Are there any Settings to be changed, so that I can enable TDR again?
These should be the default settings set by Octane (except for disabling) right?
