Hi I am trying to render a smoke simulation from bifrost so I exported a vdb from it, It was an example from bifrost browser, but maya 2018 crashes everytime I am trying to render or import the vdb sequence as orbx proxy, this do not happend with a vdb exported from fumefx only from bifrost, octane renders vdb volumes from fumefx, do you know how can I render a vbd sequence from bifrost?, or let me guess vdbs from bifrost are not supported?, thanks.

I'm going to move this topic to bug-reports section.
Because if this crashes - this most likely is a bug. Just so far I'm not sure if this is a plugin bug or the Octane engine itself crashes from this input...
I need an ORBX file that crashes on you.

Hi Jim, the vdbs I am trying to render are exported from the samples that come with maya 2018 in the bifrost browser, I tried the smoke ones, I just changed the "file_cache" node to vdb in the Bifrost Graph Editor of the example, either option in the node Traits 2_4 or 5 make maya crash anytime I try to render the vdb sequence with octane.

My graphics cards are 3 x 980ti and 1 titan black 6gb.
Maya 2018 sp6.
Nvidia Drivers 430.86
OctaneRender for Maya 4.05-13.48 [STABLE]
Windows 10 pro 64bits

Would be useful if you give me this VDB file that crashes on you.
If I understood correctly, you just create the ORBX proxy node, and then create the Octane volume node inside the proxy's node-editor window using this VDB file, and Maya immediately crashes?

This is a vdb frame I exported from the bifrost smoke examples, If I try to import it in a orbx proxy node maya crashes, if I try to render it once imported from the traditional import menu from maya, maya crashes too.

This is some crash-bug in the Octane engine SDK, it's not related to the plugin. The Octane library crashes during evaluation of this file.
I've let it know to the engine team, they will check it.
