Otoy® is proud to announce the availability of a new test version of OctaneRender™ for Maya® Version 2018.1
The world's fastest and most feature-rich unbiased render engine that integrates completely into Autodesk® Maya®.

Maya® Version Requirements

This release will work with Maya® Versions 2016, 2016.5, 2017 and 2018 64-bit on Windows, Linux and OSX operating systems.

To use this version, you need a GPU of compute model 3.0 or higher. Support for Fermi GPUs (like GTX 4xx and 5xx) has been dropped. Also make sure you use a driver of version 387 or higher and if you are working on Mac OS that have a CUDA driver installed that supports at least CUDA 9.1.

Changelog and the installers for Octane Standalone 2018.1 are here:
OctaneRender Standalone 2018.1 RC1

Changes since version 14.9:

  • Implemented one more workaround for several Maya's region API bugs. Should now retain the region-marquee between rendering sessions.

Hi Jim!

Since version .9 the denoiser is only working if you update the pass in the passes after each IPR render.

Test StepByStep Flow
- Start maya open or create any octane scene
- Set up passes to preview denoiser output.
- Start IPR
- See there is no denoiser in the view.
- Update again the pass by changing out denoiser output and putting it back again.
- Denoise is visible
- Hit IPR again
- Denoise output is missing from render view again....

Can you look into the matter as its hard to work like this.
Thanks

Works OK for me, no difference with the 14.8: the denoised image kicks in after some time of rendering (before that the beauty image is shown in the result) or after the rendering reaches the max-samples - depending on your settings. You don't need to be changing the preview-pass back and forth for that - the denoised image appears when it's ready.
If you want the denoised result earlier than the rendering got finished, just make sure you've unset the "Denoise on completion" checkbox in the imager settings. But this mode is more resource-hungry.

Hello JimStar!

Thanks a lot for all of your great work. Any idea when this or the 4.x stable plugin will support Maya 2019?

Cheers!
