Hello Itsallgoode9,

Our team is working on it and we would have a stable release, hopefully soon. My apology for the delays.

- This release is stable enough for still image.
- However it's very far from usable in production for animation.

Node Editor and Hypershade Editor Issue

Maybe I am missing something but when you create a shader (example octane diffuse)... in either node editor or hypershade material editor... then add an octane RGB image node you no longer can just drag the rgb image node into the diffuse channel... you have to go to 'input' that creates OTHER up pops a window then you select which one you want. A one step process is now a two-three step process. Same for putting rgb image into a texture emission node etc.

Why change a good thing.... if there is a Octane node editor that works just like the standalone... that would be great.

Please tell me I am just doing something wrong....

Thanks

Peter

Urgent Camera Depth of field will not hold value I put in

Hoping for an answer on last post AND URGENTLY for this one....

My depth of field value is stuck.... I type in a value and it holds for a couple of seconds and then goes back to a value that looks like auto focus. BUT auto focus is off!!!

I have created a new octane camera, keyed the value, tied attaching a octane float value to it (no luck there cause there is not a depth of field node I can see.

Tried everything... any ideas... have a cover due and can't use aperture cause it focuses on the wrong spot.

Thanks

Hi p3taoctane,

It seems like the Pick focus mode is off in the Additional rollout from the Render settings?

Regarding the previous post, you can now work like Octane standalone using Maya Node editor here. Also, try using Middle mouse when you drag and drop a node in any input. We would expose the useful pins for useful pins in Maya nodes as soon as we have the plugin is stable. We have added you in the test beta and there is already a newer build than this. Pick focus is selected.

When I de-select it I can change the values.

Thanks

Re the node editor

Yes I can middle mouse drag nodes i need into the node editor but the materials do not show the nodes I want to drag into like yours do.

So I have to go to input ... other... then select it... too many steps

Thanks
