multiply node is clamping?

Hi,
I've noticed that the multiply node in v3.06 TEST2 is clamping inputs. Attached is a scene with a dark red color connected to a multiply node with the second input with values above 1 but there is no change. Only < 1 darkens the color, anything above looks like is being clamped.
If possible could you please provide a fix for that soon?

Thanks
Yaniv

Hi,

Do you know if this is something new in the latest build? It seems that even the texture RGB node only works in the 0..1 range.

Thanks,

It definitely wasn't clamping before but I don't know when it changed. If you remember I asked you once how to do an add operation which involved multiplying the 2 inputs by 2 and then mixing them together. So now although there is a new add node, the previous setup stopped working because of the clamping.

the color correction brightness seems to works for now so I can manage meanwhile without multiply. but it would be great for a quick fix soon especially if it does it to textures as well.

Thanks

I've reported this issue to the Octane core devs. They are investigating it.

Nope, sorry. The standalone is not used by the plugin at all. Each plugin build has its own internal Houdini libs. Let's see if the Octane devs can find something about this issue.

Nope, not at all. The Standalone is needed only in the render nodes for network rendering, but the plugin doesn't need the Standalone to work.
