OctaneRender 2022.1.2 for Houdini production (2022.1.2.2) Tweet

This is a production release of the OctaneRender™ 2022.1.2.2 for Houdini™ plugin compiled with the Octane 2022.1.2 core. This 2022.1.2.2 release is available for the latest Houdini production builds on Windows x64, Linux, and macOS arm64.

Houdini production builds supported by this release: 19.0.720, 19.5.534, 19.5.569, 19.5.605, 19.5.805, 20.0.506 , 20.0.547 and 20.0.590.

Note: This is a maintenance release of 2022 version which doesn't include the latest fixes. The most recent released version is here: 2023.1.2.1 and 2024.1.Alpha_2.0

Linux Note
On Linux only compatibility Houdini 20 build is supported (gcc9.3).
It can only be installed by downloading it from the downloads page since it's not visible in the Launcher:

We are looking into supporting the gcc11.2 build.

Common Issues and Solutions
- If the plugin doesn't work at all, set HOUDINI_DSO_ERROR = 2 in houdini.env and check for messages in the terminal.
- If you're missing libglut.so.3, install the freeglut package.

You guys do this every time, you release a new build that FINALLY supports the latest production build 1-2 days before sidefx releases yet a new production build that fixes a bunch of critical issues.

Could we please get a 2022 compile for 20.0.625 as well?

So? hello ? no word? There are productions going on here that are not using the latest octane builds but are using newer houdini production builds, we currently can't because of API changes and Octane failing to load. Can we get an updated 2022 build for the latest prod build of H20 please!

Sorry for the late reply. I thought I had replied this already...

The current active releases are only 2023 stable release and 2024 alpha release.
But one more 2022 release for H20.0.625 will be published as requested along with the next 2023 release. (Hopefully it will be published next week)
Unfortunately, that probably will be the last 2022 release, so please consider upgrading to the 2023 stable release or 2024 alpha release, as they contains many bug fixes and features.
