OctaneRender 2022.1.2 for Houdini production (2022.1.2.0) Tweet

This is a production release of the OctaneRender™ 2022.1 for Houdini™ plugin compiled with the Octane 2022.1.2 core. This 2022.1.2.0 release is available for the latest Houdini production builds on Windows x64, Linux, and macOS arm64.

Houdini production builds supported by this release: 18.5.759, 19.0.720, 19.5.534, 19.5.569, 19.5.605, and 19.5.640-19.5.682 (using the 19.5.605 build).

* PLUGIN FEATURES AND FIXES:
- This release only updates octane SDK version to 2022.1.2 (check out the 2022.1.2 release post)

Common Issues and Solutions
- If the plugin doesn't work at all, set HOUDINI_DSO_ERROR = 2 in houdini.env and check for messages in the terminal.
- If you're missing libglut.so.3, install the freeglut package.

Happens all the time when I use region tool. Happens randomly in almost every scene that is somewhat complex. The error appeared in a scene with only 3GB used vram.

I've run into that same issue using the region tool many times. It's been at least a year since I first encountered it. I also have to restart Houdini to clear the issue and render again.

Hi lavrenovlad! Can you please DM/PM me a link to the scene you know this happens to. What OS and Houdini build are you using?

I reported this issue before, maybe if not to you, then to Juanjo. It doesn't matter what scene you use, you can use any project you want that is somewhat heavy on materials/geometry. Also it happens after working a bit with the IPR, not right away. Win10 btw

I can confirm that this issue happens a lot.

Curves don't render properly with orthographic camera. Works just fine in Standalone.

Hi galleon27, unfortunately, I did not get the same result with your file on 2022.1.2 in Orthographic.

Does it happen to all your curves or just this one in particular?

Either scrub the timeline or render to disk and you'll probably get the same result as me.
