I know, I know, do it in comp, but hear me out!
Distorting CG footage with an ST map is something handily done in Nuke, but a license for that is pretty far out of reach for freelancers. Aftereffects makes ST map distortion a huge pain. I was delighted to discover Redshift has a camera parameter that allows me to specify an ST distortion map, which it uses to distort renders. This is a fantastic shortcut, and I would love to figure out a way to do it in Octane.
I'm curious if something like this couple be implemented as an OSL camera lens shader? Might anyone be aware of some example code or resource that hints and how one might craft this?
