Hi all.

In Houdini 18.5.351 and Octane 2020.1.5.3 i'm having an issue with a lot of settings and documentation missing compared to the Cinema 4D version.
I was reading about working with 32 bit linear EXR's as they have the best quality and most information in the render. Now I read this https://docs.otoy.com/cinema4d/TonemapL ... tings.html
but look in the Houdini version and I can't find any of the options. I can set it to Linear in the render target imager but I can't find anywhere to check/set my bit depth for the render. There are options on the ROP for the File format and EXR compression. Again, the documentation is lacking a lot of information on the options. The Cinema 4D version says
"You can adjust the bit depth from here and for the final compositing you have to choose according to the quality you need. EXR 32-bit is the maximum quality, but the file sizes will be quite large."
Why no settings in Houdini???

By default, the Houdini plugin EXR files are always 32bit, but the option to export half precision EXR files is available if you enable the "EXR half precision" option.

Hope it helps,

In any case, in Octane 2020.2 all the export options have been updated to fully support the new Octane features, so on it, you are going to be able to select directly the file format and the precision using a single option, as you can see in the attached image.

Thanks,
-Juanjo
