One question that's bugging me forever, is 10gigs of vram enough for 3D rendering in scenes where textures are about 1 gig and around 20 million poligons?

Hi,
difficult to say for sure, but I think you need more than 10GB of VRAM in this case.
20 Millions polys are = 40 Millions triangles = ~8GB of VRAM
1GB of textures on hdd can be much more while loaded in VRAM, since textures are normally loaded uncompressed and at full resolution.
