I'm sadly to say, but it is time to say goodbye to Octane.
And I'm really serious - it's a SAD goodbye, as I really like Octane, especially the node-way of doing things and the fast and nice renderings.

I've been a user since 2014, but still after all these years, I still can't use the ...

It seems that my licens needs to be updated to use the new version.
How do I update? I guess i don’t have to pay again?

Ok, it seems that I could update the licenses myself via the live account page.

Hi Cap.

Some years ago I had this issue where Octane could not save textures to temp.
I had the issue for more than a year or so, not with the latest the issue is back again.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

Ah thanks haze - that makes sense.

It's a feature, not an issue. Now I see it as a tool.

But if I REALLY would like to hide some geometry, what do I do then?
It seems that not only hidden geometry, get rendered, but also geometry on hidden layers.

Why does octane render hidden geometry? is there a way to avoid that?

Is there a way to easy cleanup SketchUp or does it require a clean install?

I don’t know what version of skatter i use, ill have to check that.
But I have had a lot of crashes doing just simple operations in SketchUp, like creating a new object or rotating an object.

So you are not having any bug splats at all?

At me SketchUp crashes a lot when using octane ...

i was using skatter.

but i have not had a stable build for last few years. i always get at bug splat at random times - so i have moved to enscape and sometimes octane standalone, but would really like a stable version for sketchup.

i just tried this latest release, and really wanted it to work, as i really would like to work in sketchup with proxies. but after three minutes - bug splat.

does anyone actually use this plugin for real work?
