Re: OctaneRender™ for Blender 2.06 - 6.6 Win [TEST]

Jim-

Thanks for the reply.

I don't really have a problem with the outliner view in Blender. I was just imagining a view similar to how you have the Live DB view. Perhaps a tab on that display named Scene Materials that shows the materials in the scene in a layout similar to the Live DB layout ...

Re: OctaneRender™ for Blender 2.06 - 6.6 Win [TEST]

Regarding the material converter thing, +1.

With regard to materials, I'm also wondering if it is possible to do something similar to the standalone, where we can see all of the material slots in a list for a global mesh. Sometimes, it can be so tedious to chase down all of the materials in a scene ...

Re: OctaneRender™ for Blender 2.06 - 6.3 Win [CURRENT]

Jim-

Thank you for the update. Some of the 2.x features should come in handy for my next project.

With regards to the revised/new features, are there plans to update the online manual for the plug-in? I know that you're busy supporting the plug-ins and I do not want to disrupt your efforts to ...

Re: Octane no longer Blender friendly?

Otoy has clearly made a very low priority of Blender plugin. However they already have our money, so we really have no option but wait.

I've embraced the same mindset for the plug-in as I now have for my golf game. Rather than get frustrated, I just laugh in disbelief.

That said, Otoy's decision ...

Re: OctaneRender™ for Blender 1.55 - 4.10 beta Win [TEST]

At the risk of sounding like a weenie - since the 2.0 release (~ 2 months) I think I've counted four Maya plug-in releases. During the same period, we've received exactly zero releases for Blender. My money is on a 2.05 Maya release landing 1st thing tomorrow. I think there will likely be an MS ...

Re: Some Textures not rendering !!!HELP PLEASE!!!

It's probably not the issue here, but some time ago with the old exporter I saw a situation similar to this. In my case, it turned out to be an issue of Octane misinterpreting the normals. When I told the exporter to send the normals, the frames with missing textures were fixed.

I know it does not ...

Re: OctaneRender™ for Blender 1.55 - 4.10 beta Win [TEST]

I was wondering if someone can help me when it comes to post-production with this plugin. I noticed that if I try and change their settings while it is rendering in the UV/Image editor view that nothing changes in the render. In the preview render viewport it does. Is there a way to have real time ...

Re: Any point still having GMT offset?

I think it makes sense to have it in there. You could be doing an arch-vis for a customer in LA and you are in NY. How is the Octane user's location relevant? If your customer is in LA, you set the scene location to LA, not NY, no?

My bad with regard to the location. Somehow I read your post as ...

As Kavorka indicated, I tend to use for just tweaking shadows. Rarely is the actual location/time of any real consequence for me.
