Well, if you think of it. Why trash out a half descent update just to please everyone when there is possibility to make a good comeback?
I reckon RS are working very hard to make a nice impact on next release.

I just bought Octaine 1 week ago, and this information is REALLY disturbing.

Without knowing all the details behind the scenes, one thing is clear.
Blender now has an "Octaine-clone" as internal renderer. Better or worse?
Who cares, its free.
