Re: OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v2020.2.1 - 11.07, 3dsMax2022
@ HHbomb it always hangs on that screen, weird. I am so used to waiting for it to pop up as we install different versions of Octane on different 3ds Max versions so we can go back to older projects more easily.

This version of Octane for 3ds Max 2022 installs fine. You need to make sure you check the check box next to 2022 on the installer list as it is not checked by default like the previous versions of 3ds Max that may be installed already.

Re: OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v2020.1-XB2 - 10.00 TEST
This version does not work with the Boolean tool inside of 3dsMax under the compound object tools. Previous versions all work well. This version anything that has the boolean applied does not display in the octane render. Thanks.

We tested 2 scenes here.1 scene got a 4% boost with RTX 96 to 92 seconds. The other scene got a massive RTX boost 160% 116 to 44 seconds. No crashes on either. Will test on more scenes when time permits.

Re: 3x/4x Titan RTX builds
Are you running RTX Titans or 2080TI's? The RTX Titans have 24GB of ram and even with Windows 10 ridiculous usage it leaves about 19GB free for Octane. 19GB is massive, biggest scene we have ever had was about 16GB. Point being if you have RTX Titan do you need nvlink? If not you could separate ...

Thermaltake TT Premium PCI-E x16 3.0 Black Extender Riser Cable. They come in different lengths. These are great cables. There is no loss in performance using the cable vs plugging the cards directly into the board.

Re: 3x/4x Titan RTX builds
We are running 4 RTX Titans on the the x299 Sage motherboard with no problem. We used a huge case and separated the 4 cards using two riser cables, 2 cards attached directly to board. The hottest card right by the processor when rendering 24x7 is 72C on air. The board can work very well for 4 cards ...

Re: Another workstation advice-thread
300mm for the top cable and 600mm for the bottom. The cables are pretty flexible so you can see how we bent it around for the bottom card. The top card draws fresh air in from the top of the case. The bottom card gets its fresh air from the 2 200mm fans on the front of the case (one comes mounted ...

We did the mounting old school with zip ties. It works.
