Just wanted to share some of the cool work we've been doing using Octane. All of the abstract macro shots posted below were done in C4D/Octane/X-Particles by CG artist Wes Kandel.

In regards to bump/normal/displacement maps, is it still that displacement mixing doesn't work? For example, shader1 has displacement, shader2 has displacement, mixing the two shaders results in no displacement, or displacement from just one of the sources? I also tried this with texture mixing and ...

Octane AOV's in Mplay.

As much as I like the custom ogl render window, I think I would still prefer to render to mplay if possible, simply because of its image inspection and color correction tools. I've notice though that mplay can't seem to read octanes AOV's when rendering to mplay via IPR or just saving a snapshot ...

So I know currently that packed primitives are not supported inside of the Houdini plugin. However if I export packed primitives via the alembic export strait into the standalone it is able to make use of them as alembic instances just fine, loading only the geometry for an initial instance, in a ...

Hi Juanjo,

We discovered the issue, it was a case of updating software (Houdini) and neglecting to update port exceptions on the network firewall. Thank you for the quick response though, the plugin is looking very polished! :)
