Network rendering setup
I had posted this on the main forum:
Howdy!
I currently have a V4 standalone license with the Poser plugin. What I want to do is put my other GPUs (6 GTX1080 and 4 GTX1070 - from a bitcoin mining rig I had shut down last summer) to work on network renderings.
I'm guessing I need another license ...

Re: Iray to octane
Depending on the angle light hits some LiveDB metals, it may not look like you want. Changing direction of light can help, or the rotation of HDRI maps. You can also try other metals, Nickel, Titanium, and Chromed Steel until you get that silver look. Also copy the bump map/displacement map image ...

Re: Glass props in Octane
Anxiously awaiting a reply!the hotpixel removal on 0 seem to soften the image a great deal...any other way to avoid those hot-spots?

Re: changing computers
I know this is an older post but I ran into the same thing (kinda) and here is what I learned:
1. If you need to remove Octane data, hacking the PZ3 will definitely work, but a much easier way is to invoke "Remove all Octane data" (or something like that) menu option in the scripts pull down menu ...

Re: Using Octane off-line
Thats what I thought. Thank you.
I can only hope my internet doesn't rudely go out on me without advanced notice so I have time to take the necessary actions to keep rendering. Storms, cars hitting utility poles and such can be so thoughtless ya know!

Re: Using Octane off-line
Well thank you for the reply! :)
I read it three times and am still not sure what I just read. Clear as mud.
So...if I lose internet connectivity (without FIRST releasing my license and opting for the off-line license) I'm outta luck until I get internet back. Right? In this case roughly 5 hours ...

Using Octane off-line
This has probably been covered before, but I'm at work and don't have time to properly search for the answer, so...
I lost internet connectivity yesterday to a storm and tried to render a project and Octane/plugin was not having it.
We are not bound to a server handshake for everything to work ...
