Re: brasco Octane Menu (script)

Hi guys,

I've just updated the first post with a version (v1.1.00) that adds v4.00 compatibility and a couple other minor fixes.

cheers,

This looks very interesting Ahmet,

The grouping is very welcome.

I can only think of a few minor improvements that would help me when using the NE.

1. Optimize (auto scale) for nodes would be helpful to quickly reduce the size of nodes based on their content:

Here's that function in Xpresso ...

Re: Air bubble enclosed in glass

Hi,

You just need to have the inside bubbles with inverted normals so Octane knows what's "inside" (Glass) and what's "outside" (Air).
That should refract as it would in reality.

I've fixed that. And i just built a quick test release with latest sdk (3.05-test). It would be great if somebody wish to test it for vertexcolors/weights.
Best!

Just do what you did and then add an Octane tag to the object.
Thanks, as you can see in that screenshot it has an Octane tag already. Ahmet's acknowledged there might be a problem with the Color Vertex Tags, normal Vertex Tags work fine.

Hi Ahmet,
I can't find how to utilise the new Vertex map support either, what is the intended workflow for this?

Have you checked sample scene under the download links?
I haven't yet added vertexmap entry to node editor. But it's not an obstacle to use it.

Thanks Ahmet, I'd missed the ...

I've tried with just a C4D vertex map shader but that doesn't work (shown below):

I also can't see a Vertex node in the Octane dropdown:

Re: OCR release

It's been live for a while, and from all accounts very stable. Public ORC is being used for large production rendering at scale (including our own in-house productions - such as the VR renders for Unite 2016) . Get a free account from @fuzzybro (email him) and he will set you up with some free ...
