Ok, but I'm not sure how I can share a full scene with you. DAZ is notorious for not being able to export stand-alone packages that include library assets. Any suggestions?Would it be possible to share a Daz scene via PM?

Re: Update on DAZStudio plugin development
Thanks so much for the log file.
Please try to increase the Out-of-core memory from the Octane>System tab.
If it still crashes please email at [email protected] or let us know the Nvidia driver installed and your system configs?
Oh boy, where do I start... Out of Core doesn't work at all ever ...

Re: Update on DAZStudio plugin development
Sure, knock yourselves out.Would you please share the error message or the crash log to investigate?
Those crashes seem to be mostly related to memory allocation. Octane doesn't seem to like my hardware setup very much.

Re: Update on DAZStudio plugin development
Dear Octane plugin devs, can you please add a "restart Octane render engine" button within the plugin? Right now after the plugin crashes (and this happens A LOT on complex scenes), the only solution is to restart DAZ and load the scene again (which means a lot of wasted time as some scenes can take ...

Re: Update on DAZStudio plugin development
We prefer fixing the current and long-term bugs before implementing any new feature.

The constant crashes make any job take twice as long to finish, most other things can be worked around.
Now that the Octane plugin has been officially endorsed by DAZ, is there a chance for better plugin ...

OC 2020.1 How to engage NVLink memory pooling?
I have 2x RTX 2080ti connected via NVLink, but Octane doesn't seem to use the second GPU's memory. I set the "Peers" in device preferences but it doesn't seem to change anything.
I know Octane is NOT supposed to show a larger memory pool in the System panel. Instead, once the main GPU's memory ...

Thanks! That was what I assumed.frankmci wrote:Unless you are doing some very picky caustics or extremely subtle and complex refraction, Path Tracing produces nearly identical results to PMC in significantly less time.

Re: OC 2020.1 Denoiser not working?
Thanks, that was the issue indeed!
I've been using PMC all the time. Switched to PT and Denoiser shows in the Octane viewport as a render pass and works as intended. Is there any real advantage on using PMC over PT apart from subtle caustic effects and such? If no, then I'll stick to PT, it's much ...

Re: OC 2020.1 Denoiser not working?
Yes, I mentioned this in my original post.face_off wrote:Do you have a graphics card selected for denoising in the System tab->Open Device Settings window?
I'm using 2x 2080ti with newest drivers and tried selecting both cards for denoising as well as each one separately.

OC 2020.1 Denoiser not working?
Hi, was anybody able to use the denoiser in OC 2020.1? I'm trying out all options - "Enable denoising ", "Denoise volumes", playing with sample values, "Blend" slider, turning the denoise render passes on (exported denoiser passes are just blank, black images) and the image always looks the same ...
