Cinema is the only pricey (at least the Studio Version) 3D App I know, which has not native UDIM support.
But Arnold for example povides UDIM support in Cinema and there is a script which adds some kind of UDIM support for Cinema.

Re: Ocean animation
I guess the only thing I would add is a dirt node on the surface, driving a setup that also adds the foam around the bouy and the posts.
Really awesome shader.
I got the same idea as gordonrobb but haven't tried it yet. I quess there might be a problem with self occlusion? An option for the dirt ...

Re: Tugboat
Thank you for your replies.
Unfortunately I have to move on. I won't spend more time on this project.
In my reel I'm going to show some details of the ship but I'm afraid that's it for now.
@Bulwerk Your ocean shader is awesome. Already downloaded it

Re: Transparency Limitation
Hi Chris,
thank you very much for your reply. Now I know for sure.
I will try to use the setup you described. As long as it looks good, I don't care about IOR
Kind regards
Carsten

Transparency Limitation
Hi,
I have a problem with transparency not propagated through glas. I think I read somewhere in this forum, that this is some kind of octane limitation, but a friend of mine achieved the effect I want with a fake glas shader (glossy-specular-mix) in octane for modo. I tried to reproduce his ...

Re: Another First Animation Test
@[gk]
You a right.
I did not consider to render an alpha pass yet first because I am one of the lucky guys, who has problems with the turntable function (random bad frames). I needed several "render runs" to get 360 frames without errors and was a little annoyed.
For one single frame, the ...

Thanks for your feedback!
@ iknowmedia
I will post a hi-res picture today. I am not happy with the tessellation of some elements - It does not look good in hi-res. When I have time, I will try to fix it in modo. I do not use Maya anymore (too expensive for me :-( , so I cannot do a better NURBS ...

Another First Animation Test
Hi,
I would like to post my first turntable with the Octane renderer. It is an old converted NURBS model I made some years ago with Maya 5.
