How do you project a background image?

Does anyone here know how to project a background image to the camera similar to how it is done in Modo?
I can only figure out how to do a front projection onto a physical object in the scene. But by doing so my background image is affected by the DOF on the camera which is not what I want.

Focus picker inside Max +1. For me the focus picker has always been one of Octanes unique selling points ;).

Re: OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v1.0 beta 2.58[TEST]

Hi Karba,

I went back to 2.57 and made a test scene. Then installed 2.58 again, and the scene renders just fine.

By the way. Is it possible to send a scene from Max to octane with octane materials on? I cant get it to work. Also the script (MAX2Octane 1.022h) Crashes if I have an octane camera in ...

Does actuall render work properly?
Simple Direct light / Ambient occlusion seems to work. I cant get IBL to work. And since my machine crashes when I try to edit materials I have not been able to test how those render.

Re: OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v1.0 beta 2.58[TEST]

Hi Karba,

I cant see materials in Max, and even worse, My system crashes every time I try to assign a new material in max. I just tried it four times in a row on a simple scene with only two boxes and a sphere. My screen completely freezes and there is nothing I can do but reboot. I'm going back to ...

Re: MAX2Octane exporter for max 2010+

I made some Octane Icons for my 3dsMax main toolbar. If anyone wants to use them go ahead.
@KilaD if you find them usable you are welcome to add them to the script in your next update.

Best regards

Re: Beta 2.2 RC1: 3Ds Max plugin testing thread

Is there any chance the exporter will one day support the 3ds Max substitute modifier or Xref proxy objects?
Well, its not so much about the exporter as is about Octane, which right now doesn't support instances. They'll be here in version 1.23, which is coming soon, (at this rate it's probably ...
