Juanjo,
Thank-you for your quick reply.
I'm just learning Octane for Houdini so need a quickstart or an example hip(nc) file to study because I am having no success at all and there is nothing in the manual about this.
I'm just using a sphere created elsewhere with UVs but no materials and for the ...

Assign Shader to OBJ
Hello,
Can someone direct me to a tutorial how to apply octane shaders to imported OBJs. Drag and apply doesn't work so I assume there is a step I am missing.
I found some old posts saying you need to first assign a material the geometry but that's it.
I also can't find anything in the (otherwise ...

G3F/G8F Shader Problem
Hello,
The email addresses at Redspecsss are refusing messages so I have to contact RedSpecSSS support through this board.
Anyways here is the email I tried to send:

Separate HDRI Maps
Hello,
Is it possible to use separate maps for environmental lighting. I'm used to using Maxwell where you can have separate maps for illumination, reflection, and background.
The SiBL system also uses separate optimized maps for illumination, reflection and background.

Re: OcDS Setup v2.2 (last Beta)
Hello,
So are we going to have to (re)set the material amount to 1.0000 forever or is there going to be a fix?
It seems odd that Octane makes an (incorrect) assumption about the scene and ends up producing a terrible render.
It should first make a proper render and if it needs to be adjusted I will ...

Faces Show on Render
Hello,
This an "out-of-the-box" quick render of Victoria 6HD. I just loaded the model and a camera, set materials and opened the Octane window. The only change I made was setting the sun to my location and time and changing to the Path-Tracing Renderer- every other setting was left as is. I hit ...

Re: New Version Very Slow to Activate
Actually OcDS is very slow when connecting to Octane Live for any reason.
The Live DB materials never load their names so the database is not searchable.
And it takes a long time to download any material.
I never had any problem on the previous version.

New Version Very Slow to Activate
Hello,
I just installed the latest version of OcDS and it works fine. The new UI will take some getting used to though.
I've found that it takes a very long time to activate and it locks DS while it is doing it.
When I launch DS I have to wait a minute or 2 before I can do anything while Octane ...

Havensole,
I've been with blender since the beginning (v1.8 actually) and its always exciting to be
part of a project that is in its infancy (I started using - testing actuallly, Firefox - Phoenix then, from v0.1). Every time I get a new version from Refractive it's like Christmas - I can't wait to ...
