is there a fast and easy way to convert v2020 Materials into v2026? It is from a pack we bought and now most of them are useless. Some seem to be wrongly wired (depends on Octane version), some are simply crashing Cinema/Octane - and this fast and often :( I sometimes open a scene, click ...

Just FYI: we only use Dino's workflow. It is fast and easy to remind.
And as far as I remember it was refraction ray only what has to be 0 to get it to work. Maybe wrong, but it was only one of the 2 parameters to be set to 0.

Thanks alot jayroth (and Dino as well :)) - that'll do very well!
And the Gradient seems to be not mandatory as far as I see.


Thank you also Beppe, I'll give it a try later on.
Seems to be a bit more complicated in the setup :)

Hi, am I doing wrong?
I can't get an area light invisible behind a specular material, windows or other glass-objects.
Object can be single sided or double, I tried Path Tracing, PMC, Photon Tracing and many options in Visibilty- and Light Settings-Tab of the Area Light Tag (Including "Opacity" in ...

I just saw that one of the lastest versions (2023.1.3-[R4]) is up from R21 while one before (2023.1.3-[R2]) is up from.R15 to R2024.

This seen, my question is: is there already a plan, from wich date on R21 plugins will also be obsolete?

I just saw that the last version (2023.1.3-[ R4 ] (R21-R2024)) is up from R21 while one before (2023.1.3-[ R2 ] (R15-R2024)) was incl.R15 and up.

This seen, my question is: is there already a plan, from wich date on R21 will also be obsolete?

... or dark/black areas with low Specular Depth value (12).

Changing the value from 50 down to 10 will reduce the duplications but grow the dark/black areas.

I try to render nice glass and get these duplications of the internal reflections and refractions. There is no black object in the scene ...
