Network rendering sudden slowdowns
Hi,
We do network rendering, and I notice that from time to time, network render times become magnitudes longer (like from 30 seconds to 4+ minutes). If I close and restart Cinema4D, network rendering is back to normal. Anything that can be causing this? See attached for the version information ...

Spectral AI Denoiser increase frame render by ~5x
Hi,
I have an animation I'm testing out. As I render out, it takes around 13 seconds to process, but then, the AI denoiser step finished nearly 40-45 seconds later? Is this normal? I'm on multiple GPU rendering (all 4090s). Is this calculated on the actual computer, or across the network?
Thanks!

Batch rendering queue possible?
Hi,
I have 2 workstations (dual GPU), and a dedicated render box (6 GPU). I wanted to know is there a way to do the following:
On workstations, when a file is ready, send to the dedicated render box and it just renders whatever comes in the queue? Currently, network rendering requires that the ...

Re: Photon kernel + octane daylight/sun = flickering animation
Hey,
It happens while rendering animations. Usually overnight, so I do not see the screen. I wake up to a restarted PC, with the render being stopped at some point.

Re: Photon kernel + octane daylight/sun = flickering animation
Thanks for the reply Elsksa.
After doing more testing, it appears I needed many more samples. At around 1200 for an HD animation output, the flicker was 90+ percent gone. Anything less than that, it got worse and worse. At 600, it was every few frames. Sadly, ever since I'm exporting animations ...

Re: Photon kernel + octane daylight/sun = flickering animation
Just following up - anyone have any ideas? I see the ORBX has been downloaded several times, but no input. Should I contact Otoy support for insight perhaps?

Re: Photon kernel + octane daylight/sun = flickering animation
Hi, so I did a very generic test. This is a metal tube with an octane daylight/sun light source alongside a couple of area style lights. You can see the animation link here, the specular "sun" flickers non stop, like a candle would.

Re: Photon kernel + octane daylight/sun = flickering animation
Hey thanks for the reply. I'd love to share with the developers - but I cannot post the file in a public forum as it's client/NDA/based project. I might just create a generic version and post this later if I can.
