No, definitely not compile, you just have to download exact same version (octane API) to be able to use it with Octane in LW plugin for network rendering.

Octane API build 2024.1 is NOT compatible with RTX 50X0 GPUs, you need LW octane plugin to be API 2025.x for that compatibility.

2024.1 as it says on plugin API
You can always go to LW, enable plugin and check "About Octane" and there you see what Octane API is used to compile plugin and you use that for network render/slaves..

I'm registered to it and i see myself/my account (with "free" credits from my subscription) at render.x.io but i just don't see/understand how to go in "reverse" i.e. to earn credits and not spend.
