Looking promising, let it render a little longer as it's still very grainy.
please post final render times.
Also try adding a little roughness to table texture as it may reduce the speckles.

My models do not have reversed faces/flipped normals.
I'll try converting the .skp to .obj with Deep Exploration and see if it makes a difference.

Navigation , I find it a little cumbersome, I understand that cameras do not carry through to Octane...yet, but when opening a mesh I really need to fiddle to get scene views.

Just wondering out loud, how would this compare to say CPU based vray?Rendered at 1680 x 1050 at depth 16 for 2000 samples per pixel. 20 minutes.
In speed and quality.

That's not gonna work as Vue is all about ecosystems and atmospheres, not something that will translate in a basic .obj export.
