The script in question was really a very hacky thing.. I unfortunately also don't have the scene anymore.sagun wrote:Is is possible to still get the script ? I think the dropbox link is not working. This would be amazing.

Catching Up on Octane Render
I've not been listening so close to the Octane Render forums for a few years now and since a lot has changed I have a few questions:
- Octane Render 3 seems to be coming out this year I'd imagine. Any idea on how far away it is?
- Will there be upgrade pricing for 1.x customers to upgrade to 3.x?

Re: Real Flow Particles
Train smoke does sound like Arun exercise, though are you actually planning on using Real Flow to simulate the smoke?

Re: Real Flow Particles
I've got a fairly nice looking mesh now. You can have a look at it here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/900 ... _00110.zip

Re: Real Flow Particles
That is insanely fast!
I had made a few tests in Real Flow in getting a good looking, proper smooth mesh. I will have another try in getting a mesh for you.

Nice work!
Here's another Octane/Realflow user (not me) posting his early results:

Thanks everyone!
@p3taoctane - I will upload the entire scene for you, but for now at least only one of the frames. Download: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/900723/Breaker-f110.zip

Real Flow Particles
I made a short test animation using particles simulated in Real Flow, exported to Octane Render for instancing using a little program I made.
The particles are instances, which is the only reason I think why it's possible to have more than a million spheres without my GTX 570 running out of memory ...

Re: GPU rendering is not the magic bullet it was promised to be
Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the Modo renderer biased? If so it's like comparing Maxwell Render to Mental Ray.
